Club Dinner: “The Opera As A Value System. The New Plans Of The Sofia Opera And Ballet”
November 27th, 2014, Thursday
On 27 November 2014, the Reform Union Club held its final event for 2014 in Triaditsa 1 Hall of Grand Hotel Sofia. The dinner was attended by the members, partners and friends of the Club, as well as by representatives of the governing administrative body and the artistic team of the Sofia Opera and Ballet. The event was especially honoured by the presence of academician Plamen Kartalov – Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet. The dinner topic was formulated in such a way as to ensure its symbolic connection with the Club’s project for the value system of the successful people initiated by the association’s Chairman, Prof. Tsotsorkov.
The discussion was deeply engaging and laid down the foundations of a future partnership between the members of the Club and the Opera. Some of those present agreed to partake in joint initiatives and to support the new projects of the cultural institution. Academician Kartalov shared the story of the Opera’s latest achievement unmatched in terms of scale, namely the presentation in September 2015 of the Sofia Opera staging of “The Ring” (Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen) at the Füssen Festival Theatre in the beautiful Bavarian region of Allgäu, near the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau built by King Ludwig II.
To give the festive mood a boost, and also taking into consideration the fact that the event was the last in the Club’s calendar before the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Club organised a special wine tasting of the wines of one of the recently debuted boutique wineries in Bulgaria – Château Asena.
