Club Lecture “Northeast Asian Politics and Peace-building on the Korean Peninsula”

On 14 November 2013 /Thursday/ at 16:00 in Hall 409 of New Bulgarian University was held an open lecture organised by the Reform Union Club within the framework of the Sofia Business School. The lecture was part of a series of events aimed at the further promotion of the School and enjoyed considerable interest not only on the part of the participants in the previous editions of the project, but also on the part of potential future participants. The reader invited for the lecture was Prof. Yoon Young-kwan, who was visiting Bulgaria as the head of a delegation from the prestigious Korea Development Institute.
Prof. Yoon Young-kwan is a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of South Korea, founder and Chairman of the Korea Institute for Future Strategies and co-founder of the Korea Peace Institute. He has written a number of books and publications on Korea’s international relations, economy and foreign policy. Currently, he is one of the most eminent professors in international economic relations at the prestigious Seoul National University.
The lecture was entitled “Northeast Asian Politics and Peace-Building on the Korean Peninsula” and focused primarily on maintaining the balance on the Korean Peninsula, the policy pursued by Korea in the country’s international relations with China and North Korea, the strategies for its further economic development, etc.
