Dinner On The Occasion Of The Fourth Edition Of The Sofia Business School

The traditional official dinner marking the 4th edition of the Sofia Business School was held on 30 June 2015 from 19:00 hrs in the Triaditsa 1 Hall of Grand Hotel Sofia. The hosts from the Reform Union Club and the New Bulgarian University (NBU), which jointly organise the forum, welcomed the Club’s members and friends, the representatives of the NBU management, the sponsors, media partners and academic leaders of the School, as well as the foreign readers invited to participate in the project.
The guests of honour at the dinner were Prof. Kevin Dowd (professor of economics and finance at Durham University and member of the management of the Cobden Partners, London), Dr. Douglas Jackson (founder e-gold®, USA), Prof. Ali Eftekhari (president of the American Nano Society and entrepreneur in the innovations sphere in the USA), Mr. Gordon Kerr (investment banker and financial advisor at Cobden Partners, London), Assoc. Prof. Kiril Tochkov (lecturer at Texas University), Mr. Alex Alexiev (international expert in radical Islam and geostrategic forecasting).
The master classes at the 4th edition of the Sofia Business School once again offered the future leaders of Bulgaria and the region anticipatory knowledge of the dynamics and trends at work in the global economic and financial system. Among the topics discussed this year were the state of the EU banking sector and the stress tests results, the euro’s potential and the global currency war, the emergence of new institutional relationships in financial transactions and the place of the crypto currencies in them, the role of the online peer-to-peer model for the future of global finance, the limits of innovation as fuel for the global economy, China as a balance in international economic relations though the country’s new Silk Road Strategy, Islamism and its financial architecture in Europe and on the Balkans.
