Club Lecture
May 17th, 2012, Thursday
On May 17th, 2012 the members and guests of Reform Union Club attended a lecture and dinner at Crystal Palace Hotel with the special participation of Mr Vladimir Milov, president of the Institute of Energy Policy and former Deputy Energy Minister of the Russian Federation. He is currently one of Russia’s most prominent liberal politicians and co-chairman of the Party of People’s Freedom – the leading Russian opposition party.
The lecture topic dealt with the contemporary political developments and the energy policy in Russia. The Club members and their guests took eager part in the discussion asking Mr Milov a number of questions and benefitting from his direct experience and projections regarding Russia’s energy projects and their impact on the energy diversification in Europe. H.E. Jonathan Allen, British Ambassador to Bulgaria, was also present at the event.
At the start of the dinner, as a way observing what has already become a tradition for the reform Union Club events, there was a presentation of Slow Food gourmet products made by Mr Georgi Georgiev, as well as a selection of exquisite wines produced at DRAGOMIR winery estate. Mrs Gadjeva, manager of the estate, introduced Karizma 2009 (white wine) and one of the most renowned Bulgarian red wines, Pitos 2008, which was awarded a silver medal at 2011 Vinalies international contest in Paris.
