Lachezar Tsotsorkov Becomes First Bulgarian to Set Foot on Both Earth Poles

Prof. Dr. Lachezar Tsotsorkov, as a part of a ten-member international expedition, stepped on the South Pole and raised the flags of Bulgaria, Panagyurishte, the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology, Assarel-Medet JSC and Rotary Club Panagyurishte on 15.12.2014 at 23:09 Bulgarian time.
Thus he became the first Bulgarian to have raised the Bulgarian flag on both the South and the North Pole (2012), wrote today the site ClimbingGuideBg.com run by famous Bulgarian mountaineer Nikolay Petkov.
On his way back from the Earth’s southernmost point, Prof. Dr. Tsotsorkov joined the 23rd Bulgarian Antarctic expedition on Livingstone Island.
